Playtesters wanted!

Postby ArchMagosAlchemys » June 19th, 2008, 17:0

Mist Walker has just about put together the 1.0 version of The Lost Kindreds variant army list we developed here at asrai.org.

We need playtesters to try out the army against their friends over the summer and report back on the good, the bad, and the ugly of the list so that we can make the list fairer and better. We want to know what units are good, too good, and useless and what magic items are cool, or just cold.

We are also interested in eliminating all ambigutities and misunderstanding.

Let us know here who you are and where you are so that Mist Walker anf I can get you the information.

I volunteer for playtesting! Adversaries ready primo July, and include dwarves, demons and possibly goblins. We all live in Oslo, anyone else on this site located nearby, making RL-contact would be fun.

I could organize a few small (500-1000pts max) games if that could help....
Main enemies can be Beasts, HoC Daemons, Asur, Asrai.

Though I'm not the most...."capable" general ;)

Doesn't matter. We need games by intelligent players that can tell the difference between bad units and bad dice rolls, or overpowered units and lucky dice rolls.

Ready and...er...willing?

Count me in.

I'm in Pheonix, Arizona. I can test the list against every single army list too! Except tomb kings :( . Although the caliber of they players that play certain armies is largely different. I always love the idea of new types of lists and units.

Second Edit: I have gone through the list a second time and all I can say is WOW. I may just have to bypass my usual weekend of tuning my tourney list and have a blast with these guys. I will be testing at least a 2250 list and possibly a 3000 point list this weekend, just going off of what is posted so far.

Well, I might be able to help. Depends of if I can put together a list with the minis at my disposal.

But for now, I am to preoccupied with defeating the VC with my present army to try something different. I simply won´t stop with that until I have won a game. But then I could play some game if my buddy agrees.

Rammie. I'm not sure that this army will do any better against VC :( , although the Sacred Glade will enhance your magic phase sigificantly.

Oooh! Count me in. I would love to playtest the new rules. I live in the North of England and could play against everything but Beasts of Chaos and Dogs of War.

Also now I have finished my exams then me and some other friends can play a lot more. Where do I get the rules from?
Im going to read the rest of this in a salt mine, while eating salt.

North north :p Cumbria, about 5 miles from the Lake District National Park in a small village called Edenhall. I did visit the Harrogate store once and got a raffle ticket for a great prize draw but I couldn't get a lift there :(

I present to the playetesters and anyone else looking the Lost Kindreds-V 1.0

Bear in mind that this is a first copy and I had to completely refromat the file between two systems so there will be some typos, pages not being used effectively etc.

Daith11, copied from here http://wolfdragon11.deviantart.com/

Without the images being shaped to fit the text it's quite difficult to get suitable images, there's also the fact that when hand drawn and scanned the paper is not white and so it looks wrong if it finishes partway up the page.

I read through all of it and the only trouble I had is that the Eldritch Kindred is not under the Spellsinger list entry and I had a bit of trouble deciphering the Glaive of Oberon but on reading it twice, it was ok. My brother read through it as well and he had similar difficulty.

Just looked at the topic and The Call of the Hunt said he needed a better pic for the cover than what he was using, my main aim here was to get it ready for playtesting to drive stuff forwards.

yes I did, and i'll get onto it as soon as i find a decent one, unless Daith wants to draw us one. Just had a quick look through and the only problem i've seen is the magic item forest cape, is in a different font to the other magic items. Don't think this is deliberate, but if it is i'm gonna look a bit silly.
