Oversimplification: Named after Irish Rebels/Guerillas in the 1600's, typically Jacobites, which links to some of my family history.
3. How old are you?
33
4. Where in the world do you live?
Central Canada
5. What is your current occupation?
Grave Robber.
6. Would you consider yourself to be naive, artistic and impulsive, or more considerable, analytical and theorising?
Analytical & theorising but that's just my day job.
7. What drew you to Wood Elves?
The "new" trend toward forest spirits and the scary forest aspect. I liked them when they were more treehugger-like, but love them now. Evil armies seem kind of adolescent to me these days.
8. Do you play any other Warhammer fantasy armies?
In high school many years ago I played Orcs & Goblins but I don't think I'll go back. I bought the Lizardman book but they just lack a certain something.
9. Do you have many friends whom you can play?
Three and hopefully a fourth soon. They play Dark Elves, Skaven & Warriors of Chaos, possible addition being Vampire Counts.
10. Have you bought any Wood Elf models yet?
Tons, and I've ordered a bunch more. I wanted to check out the army to ensure we're viable (what with all the negative press re 8th) but couldn't resist
11. What type of army would you like? Speed? Shooting? Magic? Monsters?
Whatever works, has some variety and is fun to play. I like the shooting, but I fear that the horde's cannot be whittled down by it sufficiently. I'd like magic, but so far I've sucked at using it. Speed seems to work well for the WE's, and I haven't dove into Monsters yet much.
12. Which of the Wood Elf models is your personal favourite?
The Warhawks & Great Eagle that have dudes standing on their backs look badass.
14. What is your favourite unit in the Wood Elven army?
I love Wardancers for fluff, but so far Dryads seem to be most effective.
15. What is your favourite unit in the entire range of Warhammer?
Troll Slayers are a fantastic GW idea.
16. There are many different seasons to paint Wood Elves in (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter). Have you decided on any, and if so, which?
I'd like to try autumn, but I'm no master painter. I'm reluctant to do winter in fear they'd look to much like High Elves. Can anyone tell me what the difference is between a spring vs. a summer paint job exactly?
17. On to the community questions. How did you hear about us?
Google I think.
18. Have you seen our LEAF article database thingy? (link to the top right) (now back up and running as of Jan 1st)
No
19. Have you had the time eyeball our Forum Rules & Guidelines yet?
No
20. What do you think of the site so far?
Really great. Polite with interesting perspectives on the army. WE appear to attract thoughtful players.
21. Do you have any dark secrets to share?
I'm not really a grave robber... more of a tomb robber actually (1st Edition WFRP anyone? Anyone?).
22. Did you notice there was no question #13?

Not until I read this in another person's intro.
23: Is there something else we should know about you before we start to dissect your personal life?

I was a WFB Orcs & Goblins player (but to poor to field a real painted army) back in high school and haven't played in the 15 years since then. My friends and I were into WH40K for a year or two but we're taking a break. We all thought that trying 8th edition was a good idea and a fresh start.
I'm enjoying the WE but I am a bit concerned by the asswhomping the DE's recently delivered upon me. I think it's pathetic that GW leaves armies on the shelf and without an army book for so many years without update (nevermind Tomb Kings), especially all the rules that have directly and dramatically affected Wood Elves.
