* Pick any Warhammer army
* Make a 1000 points, legal armylist
* Build the models, paint the models and take pictures along the way
* Write a 500 words background piece with your army background.
* Take an army picture when it's all finished.

How much + / - is allowed on the 1000 points? Because I think it´s hard to hit 1000 exactly.

I'm down, I'll be doing an empire army with a beautiful list.

acquire the models
Paint them

Its OK if you've started painting. Its not OK if you are nearly finished and only have to paint a couple of models to finish the whole project.

By "building" models I mean assembling removing mould lines etc from models making up the army

1000 points legal army list usually comes in around 997, 998 etc. This is of course OK. it does not have to be 1000 on the nose. however 940 is too far off. If you would play with it its good.

Quick question, Do we start our own thread for our individual Army's ? You know, with the 500 words background and all the pictures etc ? Or are we posting it all here ?

Ideally, starting your own thread is the way to go. That way, everyone (including yourself!) can see how the army is progressing over the contest period, and it turns into a mini-army blog, which is really the intention of this contest - to showcase the army building process. Just remember that the contest doesn't officially begin until June 1st (so no starting before then to get a head start!)

I don't really want to be buying too much, so can I just finish off 1000pts of my High Elves? I'll tell you what I've painted:

The premise is that you build and paint a legal 1000pt list during the set time period. If you can make a legal 1000pt list from what you already own then that's absolutely fine, but you can't just pick 1000pts worth of models or just finish off a load of units that are already mostly painted. If you've only painted three models out of the whole list, you're fine. If you've only got three models left to paint, then it sort of defeats the point of the contest.

If all you've started is 3 WiP archers and assembled some Phoenix Guard, I think you're OK to join in.

Ooooh, sign me up! I went back to lurking in the shadows after the miniature exchange, but I think it's time to grab the bull by the horns and finish something off for once. So count me in. I'll probably be doing wood elves, unless the dark elves call me.

The plan is that when the contest starts, each participant will create their own blog in the meadow of arts, and post a link in the contest thread for easy access.
