i most definitely agree with Upyr here. 8 is an exellent number to play with as the tournament isnt too prolong and it fits a knockout layout easily.

You guys should seriuously read the entire thing. :) It's not a knock-out. (If you mean "the one who beats the crap out of the other goes through" knockout.) Everyone will have to fight against every opponent in the first round. Still thinking about what to do in the second round, but that's not even close to beginning.

Yay, that leaves even more room for building up arch rivalries and feuds.

(I have to admit I overread the "non-knockout part, too :))

Nice, 8 contestants. I'll leave this open 'till Friday. If somebody still comes up with a character, then he can take my place.

Also, I'd like to ask the mods if I can create a seperate thread for this, as this will take a long time to complete and will probably span several pages. And I don't want any confusion because of other postes in between.

Edit: Eltharon, I need those stats. If I haven't got them by tomorrow 7 PM GMT, then your place will be open to whoever gets here first.

I hope on posting the first part by Sunday.

Hey,
here is my character for the arena, unfortunately the pm of my stats to wild fang didn't work due to a "debug error" or something, so I'll have to shamelessly reveal my stats here, at the risk of srutiny...

Imhoe'c the Insane

Legend tells of a great wood elf general, Imhoe'c, who won many victories protecting Athel Loren. After suffering his first and only loss against a mighty beastman army, Imhoe'c could not face the shame and dissapeared into the Wildwood, the home of the treeman, Coeddil the betrayer. Since then he has only appeared every one hundred years at the Glade of Blood, bestowed with gifts and weaponry from Coeddil. It does not matter to him whether he wins or loses, only that he kills in the name of his master, Coeddil. It is said when he is injured in battle, a small plain stone that he carries emits an impenetrable force field, so that he becomes near invincible. His suicidal fury is such that he has become known as Imhoe'c the Insane, protector of the Wildwood.

Imhoe'c looked at the lizard-thing quizzically. He had never seen such a beast before, and saw it as a challenge to overcome. He pointed his sword as a gesture towards Kai-Huan, and challenged it to a duel

Hmmm, still no stats Moonblade. Try sending them to mailto:Mil.Wybaillie@gmail.com.

@Impenstein: No challenges needed, you're going to fight anyone anyway.

Hoping to get the first round done by sunday, but have three basketball matches to play, so it's going to be difficult. :s But I'll try. I still have to check if the characters are legal, so I'm gonna do that first.

It says that Glade Lords (which i thought were another name for Highborns, correct me if im wrong) can have 20 pts extra, therefore I'm not over the 20 pts limit, but if im wrong, remove the Helm of the Hunt

Wood elf lords get an equaliser bacause they have the same basic stats as High Elf and Dark Elf lords yet cost 20 points more because of their longbows which are useless in arenas.

Don't know why anyone should have any problems with it. The battles are fought as usual, but players get a chance to develop their own story. It's not like you have to reply like in a RPG (but it would be more fun ;) ).

A beginning...

The champions stood in the middle of the arena. All of them had arrived more or less at the same time, save one. Whoever this mystery warrior might be they did not know, nor did they want to know. All they really cared about was the fact that this meant they had less competition.

The Elves, Asorial Dragonheart, Imhoe’c and Dihiran, stood together talking to eachother. Asorial seemed to be ill at ease. He did not wish to fight his kin. Yet he knew that he had to, the sword demanded it of him and he could not refuse.

A bit further stood Hal Qualleth Moriquendi. The Dark Elf was trying to hear what the Asrai were talking about. He was convinced that they were trying to find a way to kill him early in the tournament. He cared not, no fighting was allowed next to the arena, and he was confident that if he could take them on one at the time in the arena, they would die by his blade.

The voice he and the others were hearing in their mind was infinite. It was at once whole, and yet composed of separate entities that combined to make that one voice. Four at least they could hear, yet each time one would concentrate on a singular voice, it would recede like a mirage. They would try to listen to another, and another, always hearing one, but yet mostly hearing The One voice they came together to create.

One voice was smooth, seductive. It promised pleasure mixed with pain, and was achingly beautiful to listen to, even as one realized that to follow that voice would mean a loss of your soul and that you would follow it endlessly, yet it would be forever beyond your grasp. Flitting at the edges of your mind, drawing you onward, but never to be seen or touched.

Another voice seemed warm and kind, but it had underneath it the bubbling undertones of waste and rot. The voice was a cover for a vast pit of corrosion and sickness, and to know the truth of that voice would allow it to wrap itself around you and invade your mind with its filth, drowing you in it.

The next voice rang out with challenge, and had a searing sensation with it, as if splattering you with hot blood from a fresh battle wound. It defied all who heard it to raise themselves above any prowess in battle that they had yet achieved, and feel the satisfaction that only came by grabbing the axe and feeling the touch of metal on bone, the sight and sound of your defeated enemy falling into a heap before you.

The last voice was the hardest to grasp. It slipped through any attempt to identify it. It promised all, but also allowed you to see that perhaps the promises would be kept… and perhaps not. It teased. It offered power, but only to those hungry to grasp it, unless you had something to offer. And it changed. It moved. It flowed. It gave its offers, and then moved on to the next to see if perhaps they were more worthy than the last.

Perhaps…

The Khorne daemon shouted as if he had already won the tournament. Surely victory was his. As he was the only chaos worshipper in the tournament, his gods would grant him the strength to beat the other contenders.

“Don’t cry victory yet foul daemon, you are not the only one here who has the favour of the gods.” As he looked up he could see a nimble figure on top of the arena. The Eighth champion had arrived.

Halrich watched the daemon. "Fool, you are going to need more then your pathetic gods to save you from death." The powers granted you by chaos are no match for my mastery of death."

The only one that hadn't spoken yet was the Oldblood. He stood by, observing the actions of the other contenders. Allthough he was cold-blooded, it wasn't much of a problem in these warm climates.

"So the damned are all here, the tournament can commence. Prepare for eternal damnation stupid mortals.

I would like to ask not to post comments like: "Cool, I won". I'm trying to create a Role Playing Arena here, so posts like this would be very annoying, let alone disrupt the story.

PS: Don't forget to comment my writing. Point out the things that could be improved, I know I'm not really a good writer, so I can take the criticism. ;)
