Azurewraiths: The Dating Sim

Postby Azaireal » Thu Aug 11, 2011 8:27 am

It was a day like any other in the life of high school student Azuriel. It was spring, and the last remnants of snow was disappearing from the forest surrounding Oak of Ages High. Today marked the annual spring celebration in commemoration of a great victory, but Azuriel could not remember anything about the significance of the event. The long wide avenue leading up to Oak of Ages High's front entrance was doted with the figures of the early bird students. Without a care in the world, Azuriel dreamily progressed along the route until he felt a bump from behind him.

"Excuse me," The underclassman said. "I didn't mean to..." She shuffled gently away from Azuriel. She wore her uniform professionally with no wrinkles or deformations. Her blue eyes shied underneath her golden locks.

"Its ok... I'm used to it." Azuriel replied. "What brings you here so early today?"

Taken back by Azuriel's gentle mannerisms, the girl blushed. "I'm... I'm part of the Weaver's club. We have morning meet ups." She took a few steps back. "Anyway, I must be going. Good Day." She skittered about and dashed for the door.

"Strange girl." Azuriel mused.

"Hey Az," A familiar female voice popped out of the dreamy morning. "Who's THAT girl you were just speaking to?"

"I do not know. She literally just bumped into me." Azuriel replied.

"Are you sure?" Azuriel's childhood friend pressed.

[Select one: Lie || I would never lie to you|| Kiss her]

Azuriel stepped right up to his friend, draped his arms around her neck and proceeded to gently press his lips up against hers. Her green eyes shut, and Azuriel stroked her long red hair gently. She dropped her bag and straightened her back before finally pushing him away.

"What do you think you are doing? Here, now..." She punched Azuriel in the chest, but there was no power behind her fist.

"Sylphina, I thought that you might be jealous, so I was solidifying our relationship." Azuriel smirked.

Sylphina flushed, "Re...Relationship?" She looked like her brain had just become steam and floated away from her. "Just because we've know each other since before time began is no reason to ASSUME we have a RELATIONSHIP." She turned away from Azuriel.

"Then why with the jealousy?" Azuriel picked up Sylphina's bag.

"I'm not jealous." She fumed, and stormed away.

"Silly girl." Azuriel muttered at her back as Sylphina left his sight. "I wonder if today could get anymore interesting." He paused. Looking at the sky, Azuriel could see that the sun would be bright today. Perhaps it was an omen for his near future.

*Scene Change*

The classroom was average, the teacher was average, the subject was average. The only thing to brighten Azuriel's mood was his good friend Nelphean. Nelphean was an exchange student from over seas who had a special personality.

"Azuriel, you are not wearing the tie I bought you." Nelphean moaned, "You know what, I have another one right here for you. Much more becoming of a man of your stature."

"I'm a teenager." Azuriel retorted with disinterest.

"A virile young lad, if I do say so myself." Nelphean stared into Azuriel's eyes.

"Should we skip the pleasantries and just make out for the girls?" Azuriel replied.

"I do not understand how two young beautiful boys making out makes us more attractive to the girls. But I'm game." Nelphean replied. In recent years, the young women of Oak of Ages High grew more interested in what is commonly called Shounen Ai.

"You will keep your immorality quiet in the classroom, thank you." The classroom Representative interrupted the boys' fun.

[Sellect one: Lighten up...|| As you wish... || Want in?]

"As you wish, my lady Lilia." Azuriel purred.

"Do not think that your smooth voice will get you out of this," Lilia put her finger on Azuriel's chest, "The both of you will be attending mandatory Morality sessions after class today." She whipped about, her black hair dangling from her hair tie as she walked to the front of the room where she took her seat.

"If she wore glasses, she would be a killer." Nelphean whispered.

"Twin tails with glasses would be nice." Azuriel smirked.

"Just curious, are you actually dating someone right now?" Nelphean raised a brow as he asked, looking for an honest answer.

"Not at the moment, I think I might have been dumped though." Stretching as the bell rang, Azuriel got comfortable for the long winded lectures that would follow.

After class finished, Azuriel and Nelphean found Lilia standing over them with her hands on her hips. Hands in the air, the duet followed in her wake towards the dentition room.

[Select One: Flirt with Nelphean || Flirt with Lilia||Make a run for it]

"Have you ever considered putting your hair in twin tails?" Azuriel asked calmly, which drew a stare of disbelief from Nelphean.

Lilia turned to face Azuriel, smoldering rage hidden behind her glossy brown eyes."No."

"You should try it. I do not believe you would be disappointed." Azuriel held up his hand in defeat.

The dentition room was sparsely populated as most troublesome students rarely bothered to attend school let alone class. Low and behold, Sylphina was sitting at a desk with her hands folded behind her head. Albeit the girl sitting next to her stole Azuriel's attention. It was the same girl who he had encountered that very morning.

"Hi again." Azuriel waved.

With one voice, both girls replied "Hello..." And then stared at each other for a moment.

"What's up?" Azuriel broke an awkward moment before he was knocked on the head by Lilia.

"Take your seat." Lilia instructed as she walked to the front of the room. "Today I will take charge of your extra lessons." She announced. It was a long forty-five minutes.

*Scene Change*

"I didn't quite catch your name earlier." Azuriel almost yawned from his fatigue.

"You don't know Celeste, Az?" Sylphina interrupted.

"We just meet briefly before she was wisked away by the winds of fortune."

"Always with the embellishment." Sylphina laughed.

"I'm...sorry." Celeste said softly.

"Its ok." Azuriel smiled. "Its what makes you so cute." He tilted his head slightly to avoid the oncoming fist from Sylphina. "Sylph's jealousy makes her cute too."

"What about Lilia?" Nelphean asked, "What makes her cute? You were eyeing her up quite thoroughly."

"A man can dream of twin tails and glasses, can't he?"

"Not if he wants to live." Nelphean pointed towards Sylphina, who now held the specters of death at bay with her intimidating aura.

"My life will be short, but it will be worth it." Azuriel's reflexes saved him as he dodged what he assumed was a flurry of stabs.

"Life's not worth living without the beauty." Nelphean agreed. "But, even the hood of a cobra is beautiful before it strikes you down."

... To be continued... maybe.

Fanfiction about my fanfiction, and I shocked everyone who's read it into submission.

I take it this is the most bestest thing ever. XP

But more seriously, what are you guys thinking when you read this? I know its completely backwards from my usual ways, but still discussion is always fun.

Now, I don't claim to know your "usual style", so I can't really comment on that (maybe I'll read through your older stories later), but this one gave me a few chuckles. Sure, I've never actually played a dating sim yet (maybe I should?...), but I still manage to realise that it's a pretty decent "parody" (or not... actually, when I think about it, it almost doesn't seem like a parody at all... I guess it's more fun for those who already know the characters).

So yeah, useless criticism from me, but then again no-one else stepped up.

Usually a far more serious tone; almost humorless.

There's a link to one of my much older stories in my sig. if it still works...

Yeah, I've read through them.

The contrast does indeed reinforce the humour. Upon re-reading I got a lot more fun of it (Weaver's Club... :p )

Actually, I wouldn't mind seeing the second instalment.
