a matter of scale

I know that the LOTR to fantasy scale is out by a bit and also any conversions I do will not actually be valid for any GW painting comp type thing, but has anyone ever thought of using the ringwraiths as waywatchers? If so, how did they turn out

All you'd need is to replace the swords with bows... Just a thought, but if the scale looks Mong, then it won't be worthhile, especially considering the cost of ringwraiths. thoughts, anyone?

A friend of mine and regular Vampire player use ringwraiths as cairnwraiths on my suggestion. They turned out great and the slight differnence in scale is hardly noticable

Using them as waywatchers is a very interesting and original idea, but there certainly are some obstacles to overcome. The first thing that comes to mind is actually their pose, which in my opinion is very epic and not very sneaky.

Yeah i was looking at that. I honestly really would just want the heads and some of the sweeping cloak look but it all looks a bit too integrated. Reason being this forum somewhere has a squad of downright beautiful waywatchers converted from glade guard bits and dark eldar wyches to really impressive effect. I wanted to do something similar but without having to mould the awesome cloaks, but i might have to just go with it and see what happens.

Got an idea. How about using a basing kit to make the cloaks look a bit more guellie-suit(ish)?

I'm listening, but i don't understand what you mean. Ive not used basing kits for anything before so could i possibly ask you to explain how?

And once more demonstrating my ignorance, i dont know what a guille suit is

Sorry, I should have been more clear, it has nothing to do with you

It might be far out there, but the basing kit contain leaves, shrubbery, grass etc. Maybe you can glue some of it to the cloaks (for a quick fix) to make them more camoflaged. You might need to get several kits.
On a more advanced note, you could create a net with fine thread, glue and/or green stuff. When the net has almost dried form it on and around the cloaks and fix it with glue. Then take your basing kit and glue as much of it to the net as you wish, I recommend alot. Don´t forget to paint the cloak underneath first! Preferbly in a dark color.
